Carrigallen, County Leitrim, Ireland

Welcome to Mohill, County Leitrim

Mohill is situated in the Rinn Valley above the Rinn River. The town is surrounded by excellent fishing waters, with numerous lakes and rivers within a five-mile radius. Mohill takes its name from St. Manachan, who founded a monastery here in 500 AD. Over time, the town developed around this settlement, and ownership eventually passed to the Crofton and Clements families, who held extensive lands in the area.

The Clements family built Lough Rynn House and Gardens and were also the owners of a residence in Dublin which is now known as Aras an Uachtarain, the official residence of the President of Ireland. The walled gardens, established in 1859, includes four beautiful gardens, terraced towards Lough Rynn. They have been restored to their former glory and are once again one of the most beautiful sights on the estate.
