23rd January 2012 Operation Transformation Operation Transformation continues as usual this week with one change, fitness training for men in the Community Centre on Thursday night usual time. Dinner Dance The Annual Club Dinner Dance was held in the Kilbracken Arms on Saturday last January 28th. A large crowd enjoyed a beautiful meal and great entertainment. The high light of the evening was the Presentation of medals to the victorious U21 championship Winners and trainers by senior team players Gary Reynolds and Ciaran Flynn. Club of the Year Congratulations to all, espicially the Park Committee on Winning Club Grounds of the year, at the Leitrim County Board Awards recently. Eamon Quinn and John O'Reilly collected the award on behalf of the club. Good luck to the club who now go forward to the Connaught Club Awards in Castlebar on February 17th. Juvenile Club The Juvenile Board AGM was held in the Club Rooms on Monday 25th Jananuary. The Committee for 2012 are Chairman Charlie Ward, Secretary Mary Kenny, Assistant Secretary Margaret McCabe. The Committee, players, coaches and parents would like to thank out going Chairman Brian Doyle for his hard work and committment and wish him well as new senior team manager. There will be another opportunity for parents to register their under age players this Thursday 2nd February in the Club Rooms at 8:00pm. It is important that all juvenile players (U8 to U18) for 2012, register by Thursday. Club Membership Club Membership is now due. The 2012 Club which includes a ticket in weekly Lotto Draw and full membership is €100. Otherwise it's Adults €25, Students €15, U18 €10. Training Training continues on Thursday night 8:00pm for Seniors and Juniors. Minor League Minor League commences on Saturday 11th Februarymore details next week. 23rd January 2012 Operation Transformation Operation Transformation continues to be a great success with large numbers turning out for fitness training and walks. This weeks schedule is the usual format: Pilates, Aerobics and weigh-in for Ladies in the Community Centre Wednesday Night 7:00pm to 8:00pm followed by Fitness Training and weigh-in for Men 8:00pm to 9:00pm also on Wednesday Night in the Community Centre. Boot Camp for all Saturday morning 10:00am to 11:00am at the park. 5km Walk for all leaving the Park Sunday at 3:00pm. In the interest of Road Safety can all walkers please wear Hi Viz / Bright Clothing. Registration for Juvenile Players Registration for all juvenile players (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 & U18) will take place Thursday Night, 26th at 8:00pm in the Club Rooms. Registration is €10, familly concessions. Dinner Dance The Annual Club Dinner Dance takes place this Saturday Night 28th, in the Kilbracken Arms Hotel commencing at 8:00pm. There will be a presentation of medals to the U21 B Championship Winners by a special guest. Tickets €30, family concessions. Tickets available from Club Secretary Rory Harte and Modern Design. Training Commences Training for Seniors and Juniors commences at the park Saturday at 3:00pm. Minors have already begun training, further datails next week. 16th January 2012 Operation Transformation The eagearly awaited Operation Transformation Health and Fitness Programme started last Saturday January 14th. A large number of enthusiastic participants registered and got of to a great start with a 5km walk on what was a bright sunny morning. There are some changes to the programe and are as follows. Aerobics, Pilates and weigh-in for ladies in the Community Centre Wednesday 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Fitness Training and weigh-in for men in the Community Centre Wednesday 8:00pm to 9:00pm ( changed from Thursday). Boot Camp for all at the Park Saturday 10:00am to 11:00am. 5km walk for all Sunday leaving the Park at 3:00pm. Participation is €10 per week and there is still lots of time to register, places are still available. Refistration is free. 2012 Dinner Dance The Annual Club Dinner Dance will be in the Kilbracken Arms Hotel on Saturday 28th January starting at 8:00pm. Music by Groove Nation. Tickets are €30. Family concessions. Tickets available from Club Secretary Rory Harte and Modern Design. Juvenile AGM The Juvenile AGM will be held in the Club Rooms on Monday 23rd January at 8:30pm. Anyone interested in becoming an underage Coach or wants to help out during the coming year are asked to attend. 9th January 2012 Congratulations David Congratulations and good luck to U12 player David Rawle on landing the leading role of Martin Moone in a 6 part Sky Television production called Moone Boy. Currently being filmed in Boyle and Ardmore Studios Co Wicklow. David who is also a member of the local Leitrim Youth Theatre will star alongside Boyle born actor and comedian Chris O'Dowd. Annual Club Dinner Dance The 2012 Club Dinner Dance will be held in the Kilbracken Arms Hotel on Saturday 28th January. Tickets €30 with concessions for families. Operation Transformation This is a 6 week health and fitness programme run by Leitrim Sports Partnership suitable for all ages and level of fitness. Registration is next Saturday 14th, in the club rooms at 11:00am followed by a walk at 12:00pm. The idea is similar to the TV programme participants work in teams of 10 with the goal of loosing weight and improving fitness in a fun environment. There will be organised group sessions during the week and teams are encouraged to participate in their own group exercise. The weekly timetable for organised events is as follows: Ladies Aerobics and Pilates followed by weekly weigh-in on Wednesday night in the Community Centre 7:00-8:00pm. Mens fitness and Core Programme followed by weekly weigh-in Thursday night in the Community Centre 8:00-9:00pm. Boot Camp in football pitch Saturday morning 10:00-11:00am. 2nd January 2012 Health and Fitness for All The club in conjunction with Leitrim Sports Partnership will be running a 6 week health and fitness programme open to all starting on January 14th 2012. There will be a variety of programmes tailored to all levels of fitness and will be held in the Club Rooms and the community centre. Details have to be finalised but this a great opportunity to work off the excesses of Christmas in a fun way at a comfortable pace set by each individual taking part. Culchies V Townies The Annual St Stephens Day charity match between the the Culchies and the Townies was a great sucess with the Culchies coning out on top in an entertaining game. It was great to see such a large turnout of players and spectators for this annual event, and espically all the former players who rolled back the years and put on a great display. Many thanks to the organisers, players and supporters who contributed generously. All proceeds go to local charities. Dinner Dance The Annual club dinner dance will be held in The Kilbracken Arms on Saturday 28th Januar 2012. Tickets available soon. More details next week.
